William "Charles" Ruis, age 86, of Ellijay, GA passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023. Charles was born on November 26, 1936, in Valdosta, Ga to his late parents William Chester and Katie Ruth (Deloch) Ruis. Charles was a Deacon and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Member of Lakeland Masonic Lodge. Charles was also a 1973 graduate of John Marshall Law School.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Lydia Nell Ruis, Ellijay, GA, daughter Andrea and Lee Gibson, Lewisville, TX, son Scott and Dr. Kristy Ruis, St. Augustine, FL, grandchildren Ashton Gibson, Olivia Gibson, Michaella Allen, Grey Ruis, Harper Ruis, sisters Kay Rawlins, Gainesville, GA, Sharon Parker, Hahira, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 10 am to 11 am. The funeral service will be held at 11 am, Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Rosser, and the North GA Honor Guard officiating. The interment will be 10:30am, Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
