William David Quarles, age 76 of Crossville, TN passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. "David" was born December 25, 1947, in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Bruce Quarles and Mary Emmaline Davis. A graduate of Gilmer High School Class of '66, he faithfully served as a US Army Ranger in Vietnam. He worked as an electrical process engineer for Mobil Chemical and PACTIV in Covington, GA. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker.  He is preceded in death by brother Eldridge Quarles, sister-in-law Peggy Quarles, sister Margie Quarles, and brother-in-law Rev. Marvin McArthur.

Survivors include wife Nancy Bliss Quarles of Crossville, TN, daughter Rachel Quarles and David Johnson, sons D. Jay, Jacob, and David Quarles; also stepchildren Elizabeth (Brad) Hooper and Cameron(Becky) Erickson, sisters, Martha (Rev . Franklin) Harper, and Mary Alice McClure, 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Dotson, Rev. Franklin Harper, and North Georgia Honor officiating. The Kerr Family will be providing music.  Interment will follow at the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. D. Jay Quarles, Brad Hooper, Brent Harper, Darrel Harper, Kevin Harper, and Lamar Walker will serve as pallbearers.
