Mrs. Willie B. Waters Thurman age 76 of the Boardtown community, Ellijay, GA passed November 5th, 2015. Mrs. Thurman was born March 25th, 1939 to her late parents John Nelson Waters and Mamie Jane Ledford Waters. Willie was a member of the Church of Christ and worked as a seamstress for Hampton Mills. She is preceded in death by her sister JoAnn W. Storms and brother, Kenneth Waters. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jimmy R. Thurman of the home in Cherrylog, GA; Daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tim Wright of Hillsboro, TN; Sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Ray Thurman of Chatsworth, GA and Chris and Anna Thurman of McCaysville, GA; Grandchildren, Brad, Jacob, and Daniel Wright, Toni Thurman, Eli Thurman, and Evan Thurman; 5 Great grandchildren; Sisters, Jean W. Stanley of Cherrylog, GA, Joyce W. Butler of Ellijay, GA, and Melba W. Bennett of Cherrylog, GA also survives. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, November 8th, 2015 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Butch Jones officiating. Graveside interment will follow in the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery with Michael Bennett, Brandon Bennett, Randall Thurman, Stephen Holloway, Justin Thurman, Chris Cochran, Timmy Key, Chad Ray, Joe Patterson, Kenny Wiggins and Darren Cochran serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2pm until 7pm on Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at the Logan Funeral Home.
