Mr. Alexander was born May 18th, 1920 in Jerusalem, NY to his late parents Robert Sherman Alexander and Mabel Lametta Burk Alexander. He served his country honorably in the US Army during WWII. Alex also received his associate degree in mortuary science from the Simmons School of Embalming and was a co-owner and operator of Burroughs and Kohr Funeral Homes in Madison and Summit, NJ. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Gibney Alexander.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Amy and Paul Washuta of Mineral Bluff, GA; Sons and daughter-in-law, Jay and JoLynne Alexander of Easton, PA and Guy Alexander of Ormond Beach, FL; Grandchildren, Robert Alexander, Meg Alexander, Kassandra Pirkle and great grandson, Gabe Pirkle also survive.
A private family memorial service is being planned and will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Homestead HOPE Foundation at 10888 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075 or to the Tri-State Pet Rescue at P.O. Box 419 Blue Ridge, GA 30513 in memory of Mr. Alexander.
