Vally Kelsey, age 72, of Ellijay, GA, peacefully entered the presence of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She was born August 16, 1950, in Esslingen, Germany to her late parents Gottlieb Elischer and Julia Turzer. She is preceded in death by her brother Helmut Elischer.

On August 17, 1971, Vally moved from Germany to New York and married Russell Kelsey. Together they were the parents of two daughters. Vally worked in banking, sales, and marketing management. They later lived in Saint Petersburg, FL for 12 years. In 2004, Vally and Russell moved to Ellijay, GA, and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

During her life she enjoyed playing and watching football (soccer), gardening, spending time outdoors, volunteering, crocheting scarves as gifts, and spreading joy in her community. Vally's passion was her love for Christ and sought to serve and honor Him in many ways. She volunteered at Sunday School and shared His Word and praise through nursing home and music ministry.

Vally is survived by her husband of 51 years Russell James Kelsey, Ellijay, GA, daughters Julie Kelsey Marcus, St. Petersburg, FL, Jamie Christine Lyons, Glendale, AZ, and grandchildren Keanon Lyons and Kelsey Lyons, brother Otto Elischer, Deizisau, Germany.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 26, 2022, from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Rosser officiating.

Mrs. Kelsey will lie in state from 1:00 pm until the service hour of 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 115 Pleasant Grove Rd, Ellijay.
