Obituary

Summer Kaitlyn Davis, age 24, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away unexpectedly and far too soon on May 27, 2026.

Born on June 21, 2001, in Dalton, Georgia, Summer was raised in Ellijay, where she spent her life surrounded by the love of family, friends, church, and a community that cherished her deeply. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School and later earned her bachelor's degree in Biology from Kennesaw State University. Summer was working as a medical assistant at Georgia Mountain Dermatology while preparing to continue her education to become a Physician Assistant — a calling that perfectly reflected her compassionate heart and desire to care for others.

Summer was incredibly intelligent, loving, and full of life. She had a quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor that could make anyone around her laugh and smile, even on difficult days. She loved trying new things and was never afraid to speak up for what was right. Those who knew her best knew she had a stubborn streak, but beneath it was an enormous soft heart filled with empathy, kindness, and genuine care for others. She was deeply in tune with the feelings of those around her and had a way of making people feel loved and seen.

Above all else, Summer was a devoted and loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend. She loved fiercely and wholeheartedly, and the impact of her beautiful spirit will remain in the lives of everyone blessed enough to know her.

While her family's hearts are broken by this unimaginable loss, they find comfort and peace in knowing Summer has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Though her time on earth was far too short, the love, laughter, and light she gave to this world will never fade. Her memory will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched and the family and friends who will carry her in their hearts forever.

Her family will forever remember the joy she brought into every room, the laughter she shared so freely, and the unwavering love she gave to those closest to her. Though words cannot fully capture the depth of who Summer was or the loss her family now carries, her life was a beautiful reflection of kindness, faith, and compassion. She will be deeply missed every day and lovingly remembered for the rest of their lives.

Summer was preceded in death by her grandmother, Carol Davis, and her grandfather, Leeman Champion.

She is survived by her loving parents: mother, Kimberly Davis, and father, Kelly Davis; her brother and sister-in-law, Austin and Katie Davis; her nephew, Rhodes Davis; her grandmother, Mary Alice Champion Turner; her grandfather, Rev. Eugene Davis; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who loved her beyond words.

Family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday May 31st, 2026 at the Logan Funeral Home.
