Mr. Stevie Michael Newton, age 61 of Ellijay, GA passed Friday evening, March 17th, 2017 at the Seasons Hospice in Cumming, GA. Mr. Newton was born October 11th, 1955 in Ellijay, GA. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and worked as a carpenter. Stevie is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lawrence Newton. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Chanda Newton of Cohutta, GA and Ashley and Romeen Khakzad of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Skyler Young, Brianna Waters, Savannah Roach and Mathias Khakzad; mother, Lois James Newton of Ellijay, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Yvonne Newton Land of Dalton, GA and Brenda and James Gibson of Chatsworth, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marie Newton of Ellijay, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, March 20th, 2017 from the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Banks and Rev. David Nicholson officiating. Graveside interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with David Wyley, William Newton, Skyler Young, Romeen Khakzad and Johnny Abercrombie serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 2pm until 7pm on Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at the Logan Funeral Home.
