Ms. Sherri Hood, age 62, of Ellijay, GA passed away on Saturday September 30th, 2023. Sherri was born on February 28th, 1961 in Atlanta, GA to her parents, Edgar Warren and Marjorie McPherson Hood and spent most of her life in the Birmingham, AL area. Sherri is preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie McPherson Hood. Sherri is survived by her very best friend, sidekick, and the person she did life with every day, Julie Mahaffey, her daughters Jennifer Ivey and Rachel (Jeremiah) Wicker, father, Edgar "Warren" Hood, brother Durell (Cathy) Hood, grandchildren Jaycee, Olivia, Brantley, and Ashton, nieces Cassie (Brent) Hodgson and Caley (T.J.) Oliphant, and special Aunt Deloris (Ken) Gohring, and 2 great nephews.

Because of Sherri's faith in God, we know that she is with Him in Heaven, singing once again with her mom, and holding her beloved puppies Jack and Gypsie. She had a big heart and loved everyone, especially her children and grandchildren whom she adored. She began playing guitar and singing when she was 8 years old. She very much enjoyed hosting Open Mic Night at Ott Vineyard and Winery, playing music at venues with her best friend and with her band. She loved spending time with friends playing music, playing games, boat riding, walking in the woods, kayaking the Toccoa River and used any excuse to get together with everyone. No one was ever a stranger to her and when you were around her, you couldn't help but feel her love. She lived life to the fullest, had the best sense of humor and was always planning the next adventure or joke. Needless to say, Sherri will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

A service to celebrate Sherri's life will be held on Sunday, November 5th at 4:00 pm at Ott Vineyard and Winery, 230 Henry Evans Road; Ellijay GA 30540.
