Sharon Lorraine (Holloway) Bearden, age 78 of Ellijay, GA passed away Tuesday October 15, 2024. Sharon was born on October 15, 1946, in Ellijay, GA to her late parents William Thomas Holloway and Essa Mae Chapman. Sharon was a lifetime member of the Boardtown Church of Christ, in Cherry Log where she faithfully served, not only as a member.  She served the church in many roles but her favorite was teaching children's bible class.  She loved being outdoors and spent most of her time digging in the dirt.    Sharon was a 1964 graduate of Gilmer County High School. She was a school bus driver for Gilmer County Schools for 31 years.  Sharon is preceded in death by her siblings, Carolyn Howard, Loyce Chastain and Romaine Holloway.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James Johnny Bearden of Ellijay, GA, daughter and son in law DeAnne Bearden Stenberg and Tommy of Cherry Log, GA, son and daughter in law Shannon Bearden and Lisa of Cherry Log, GA, grandchildren CariAnna Stenberg Bryant and Alex, Tucker Stenberg and Katie, Natalie Stenberg Bryant and Lucas, Cody Bearden and Scarlett, Casey Bearden and Leanne, Caleb Bearden and Hannah, great grandchildren Sadie Bearden, Makenzie Bearden, Abrie Bearden, Canaan Bearden, Clayton Bearden, Cooper Bearden, Mattie Stenberg, brother Kirby Holloway of Cherry Log, GA, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday October 18, 2024, from 4-8 pm. The funeral service will be Saturday October 19, 2024, at 11:00 am. at the Boardtown Church of Christ.
