Mrs. Sarah Christine Chadwick Newton of Ellijay, GA passed from this life on Thursday, January 27th, 2011 at the Gilmer Nursing Home. A member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, born December 21st, 1928 to her late parents Marvin Pearson and Eunice Holt Chadwick in Ellijay, GA., previously employed with Hampton Mills and Starnes Drug Store. She is preceded in death by husband Edward Clarence Newton. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth and Susan Newton of Rocky Face, GA., Tracy and Lisa Newton of Ellijay, GA., grandchildren and in-laws Kristy N. and Scott Ruis of Roswell, GA., Matthew R. and Krista Newton of Talking Rock, GA., Jacob Maddox of Rocky Face, GA., and Abby Maddox of Rocky Face, GA.. great grandchildren Micah Newton and babies Ruis and Newton, sister Jo Chadwick Grant of Dalton, GA., brothers Mack Chadwick of Dalton, GA., Jack Chadwick of Ellijay, GA and Alan Chadwick of Dalton, GA. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29th, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Edmund Miller, Rev. Rubin Smith and Rev. Mark Kelley officiating, music and song by Director Doug Lee and the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Choir. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Newton, Scott Ruis, Jacob Maddox, Kent Sanford, Dennis Todd, Earl Barnes, Dennis Vinson, Danny Strickland, John Sumner and Jack Williams. Family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 28th, 2011 at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
