Roy Georgia Wright, age 86 of Ellijay, GA passed on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 11, 1935 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Robert E. and Della Azalee (Ellis) Wright. Roy was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for over 50 years. He retired from Shaw Industries. He is preceded in death by sisters Reba Wright Mashburn, Frances Wright Tatum, Eula Wright Payne, brother Joe Wright, Bill Wright, J.B. Wright, Franklin Eugene Wright. Survivors include wife of 63 years Ruby Nell Starks Wright, Ellijay, GA, sons Bob and Dana Wright, Ellijay, GA Herb Wright, Ellijay, GA, grandchildren Kayla Wright O'Dell, Kelly Wright, Bobby Wright, great grandchildren Chaise O'Dell, Breanna O'Dell, Emily Wright, Joshua Wright, Isaac Wright, Elijah Wright, sister Betty Wright Corbin, Dalton, GA, brothers Charles and Emi Lee Wright. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 4:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Clayton and Rev. Alan Davenport officiating. Interement will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bob Wright, Bobby Wright, Randall Thurman, Robert Payne, Henry Mashburn, and Herb Wright are serving as pallbearers, Phillip Pankey, David Pierce, Charles Starks, Billy Starks, Danny Frady, Jamie Pierce, Allen Starks, Larry Starks, Michael Starks, Keith Logan, Jonathan Wright, and William Wright serving as honorary pallbearers.
