Roy Henry Abercrombie, age 90 of Ellijay, GA passed on Friday, June 17, 2022.  Roy was born September 27, 1931, in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Richard Martin and Lorena May (Smith) Abercrombie.  Roy was a member of Pleasant Gap Baptist Church.  Roy was an  automotive dealer and a real estate developer, but his greatest pride was his role as a beloved father and Pop.  Roy is preceded in death by infant daughter Daphne Lynette Abercrombie, grandson Rob Westmoreland, brothers Clyde Abercrombie, Hoyt Abercrombie, Otis Abercrombie, and Herman Abercrombie, brother-in-law Rev. Emmett Burgess. Survivors include wife of 73 years Elzie Janelle (Davis) Abercrombie of Ellijay, Helen (David) Stuart of Jasper, Karen (Claude) Wright, Ellijay, grandchildren Benjamin Stuart, Christopher Flood, and Hannah Bruce, great-grandchildren Henry, Everett, Ryker, Skylar, Ellavee and Bennett, sister in law Elgaree Farist, sisters Rosa Lee Burgess of Ellijay, Mattie Hood of Ellijay, Elsie Kowitz of Ellijay, brothers Leonard (Betty) Abercrombie of Ellijay, James (Teresa) Abercrombie of Adairsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.  The funeral service will be Sunday, June 19, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Beason, Rev. Wade Davis, Rev. Chris Chastain, and Rev. Alan Cain officiating.  Christopher Flood, Benjamin Stuart, Byron Abercrombie, Larry Farist, B.J. Clampitt, and Chad Luther serving as pallbearers.  Larry Mulkey, Jim Fendley, Calvin Sanford, Philip Dotson, Cameron Sanford, Wayne Underwood, Jackie Ellington, Bobby Dotson, Michael Bramlett, Tommy Witherow, Dewell Sanford, Mickey Brinkley, Jay Smith, Bobby Abercrombie, Eddie Kerr, Johnny Cochran, Travis Hughes, John Reece, Ronnie Abercrombie, Ronnie Vautrot serving as honorary pallbearers.  Interment will follow in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pleasant Gap Cemetery Fund or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of Roy Abercrombie.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.loganfuneralhome.com.  Logan Funeral Home & Chapel in charge of arrangements.
