Ronald George McClure, age 60 of Ellijay, GA, passed on Sunday, April 11, 2021. He was born July 31, 1960 to his parents Donald Marlin McClure and Dora Lorene Davenport McClure in Ellijay, GA. Ronald enjoyed hand crafting knives, looking for American Native artifacts, auto mechanics and before his illness, operating heavy equipment for his employer, Reece Logging Co of Jasper, GA. Ronald was of the Baptist faith. Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 3:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Arnold and Rev. Pat Shelton officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald McClure, Jr, Anthony McClure, Timothy McClure, Ronnie McClure, Donnie McClure, Justin Hurd, Joseph Seabolt and Levi Seabolt. Survivors include son and daughter in law Joshua Lawrence (Emily) McClure, Ellijay, GA, grand children Brayden and Bayleigh McClure, Ellijay, GA, mother Lorene Davenport Nelson, Ellijay, GA, father Donald (Elaine) McClure, Ellijay, GA, sisters and brother in laws, Rita (Johnny) Fowler, Dalton, GA, Peggy Sue McClure, Ooltewah, TN, Diana (Ruben) Rodriguez, Ellijay, GA, Bonnie (Gene) Patterson, Rydal, GA, Jessica McClure, Ellijay, GA, Carolyn (Arvilee) Pankey, Ellijay, GA, brothers and sister in laws Tony (Carla) Nelson, Ellijay, GA, Ronnie (Sandra) McClure, Ellijay, GA, Donnie (Rhonda) McClure, Pagosa Springs, CO, Timothy (Tia) McClure, Bloomfield, NM, Anthony (Cindy) McClure, Ellijay, GA, Donald (Jeanine) McClure, Jr, Monroe, GA. Special Aunts Annette Wilson, Sue Davis and Patsy Davenport. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He is preceded in death by his step father Bobby Nelson and grandparents Hoke and Bertie Burgess, Pat Davenport and George and Bonnie McClure. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
