Ronald Edward
Gudger
June 15, 1950 – October 28, 2023
Ronald Edward Gudger, age 73 of Sandy Springs, GA passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Ronald was born on June 15, 1950, in Ellijay, GA to his parents James Alvin and Opal (Davis) Gudger. He left an immeasurable impact on the world as an exemplary and role model for untold numbers of family, friends, employees, and colleagues. By his character alone, Ron was able to leave a lasting impression on those he met momentarily in passing. He lived a life of selflessness and servitude, putting others before him at every opportunity. Ron was an unquestionably devoted husband, guided by love and commitment to his wife, Sharon, placing no worldly pursuit ahead of his relationship with her for fifty long, fulfilling years of a beautiful marriage. He was an endlessly loving father, who would drop anything for a lengthy conversation with each of his children. His daughter, Caroline, was the center of his world, and they shared a special bond that no one else will ever fully understand. He loved to watch his son's, Jonathan and Seth, as they grew in his image and as they leaned on his wisdom and knowledge in their path to manhood. As the oldest child, Ron was an anchor to his younger siblings, Janet and Robert, and he never failed to be there when his counsel or his comfort was called for. To his mother, Opal, and to his late father, Jim, he was a son of the highest order. He was a lifelong, avid and skilled outdoorsman spending his boyhood roaming the North GA mountains and later cherishing time well spent in the outdoors with his children as he taught them how to live life in the world as God created it. He met life with an extraordinary knack for creativity and innovation, which found him held in the highest regards in his professional pursuits and deeply skilled in an abundance of crafts and personal passions. Ron was widely regarded as the foremost talent in his field over his forty year career. Throughout his life, he was known as an outdoorsman, entrepreneur, inventor and innovator, author and romantic, and an enthusiast with a rare passion for life's wonders. Most importantly, he was known as a follower of Christ who lived through God's teachings for his family and others, leading by example according to the teachings of God's word.
Survivors include his wife Sharon (Nicholson) Gudger, sons Jonathan Gudger, Seth Gudger and his wife Madison Simon, daughter Caroline Gudger, Mother Opal Davis Gudger, sister Janet Davenport, and brother Robert and Marianne Gudger.
