Rita Ann Scoggins Stevenson-Ray, age 64 of Ellijay, GA passed on January 6, 2021. Rita was born June 23, 1956 in Atlanta, GA to her parents Mayo and Billie Ann (Potts) Scoggins. She was the best daughter, sister, mother & grandmother. She spent her life working as a financial manager. Her favorite hobbies were spending time with her grandchildren, animals, and gardening. She was in love with the Georgia Mountains and all the peace it offered her. Rita is preceded in death by her father Mayo Scoggins. Survivors include her husband John Ray,son James W Stevenson, III, grandchildren Dean Jones, Luke Stevenson, and Ella Stevenson, Mother Billie Scoggins, sister Kathy (Bruce) Scoggins-Smith, sister Lisa Haughton, brother Derrick (Barbara) Scoggins. She had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles whom she loved dearly. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held On Saturday January 16, 2021 at 4:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Norman Hunt officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. In lieu of flowers you may send money to "Save 1 at a Time", 501© 3 tax exempt pet adoption organization.
