Mr. Rick Allan Mitchell, age 70, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Mr. Mitchell was born on November 23, 1955, in Logansport, Indiana, to the late Robert Lee and Carolyn Jane (McCorkle) Mitchell. He was a graduate of Purdue University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Rick went on to enjoy a successful career as a Senior Project Engineer with Honeywell.

In his free time, Rick enjoyed fishing with his sons, boating, restoring old cars, and watching football. He especially cherished the time he spent with his family and will be remembered for the many memories they shared together.

Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Mrs. Kathryn Marie (Reed) Mitchell of the home in Ellijay; sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Jenny Mitchell of Granger, Indiana, Brad and Katrina Mitchell of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Brent and Amanda Mitchell of Granger, Indiana; grandchildren, Luke Mitchell, Ellie Mitchell, Sophie Mitchell, and Mason Mitchell; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Debbie Mitchell of Royal Center, Indiana; and nieces, Amy and Angie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Mr. Mitchell.
