Mr. Richard Allen Markham, age 82, of the Cherry Log Community, Georgia passed on Monday February 21st, 2011. Mr. Markham was born on July 23rd, 1928 to his late parents Leeland Monrow and Lula Etha Faucett Markham in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Western High School in Washington D.C. and attended George Washington University. He was an honorably discharged Korean War Veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Lockheed-Martin with 23 years service as an aircraft engineer. He was a member and attended First Baptist Church of Ellijay Mr. Markham is survived by his wife of 56 years, Millie Brittian Markham of Ellijay, GA; daughters and sons-in-law Toni and Greg Abernathy of Ellijay, GA, and Nikki and Robert Trevino of Marietta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Linda Markham of Roanoke, Alabama. Eight grandchildren and Two great grandchildren also survive. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday February 24th, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Dr. David Drake and family members officiating.
