Dr. Richard Clarke Agnew, age 75 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023. Dr. Agnew was born May 2, 1948, in Chattanooga, TN to his late parents Ralph Milner and Mary Katherine (Clarke) Agnew. Dr. Agnew graduated from Vanderbilt University, where he studied Medicine, became a Cardiovascular Surgeon, and worked at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida for over 20 years. Dr. Agnew is preceded in death by his wife Stephanie P. Agnew, and John Bunch his father-in-law.

Dr. Agnew is survived by his son Jonathan M. and Sharyn Agnew, Halethorpe, MD, Jason N. and Erica Agnew, Canton, NC, daughter Spenser and Nicholas Reuffer, Ellijay, GA, grandchildren Sadie Agnew, Marielle Agnew, Rowan Agnew, brother Ralph M. and Shelly Agnew, Navarre Beach, FL.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Ellijay City Cemetery with Dr. David Drake officiating.
