Mrs. Peggy Anne Whitener Huff, age 87 of Ellijay, passed on Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 at Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, GA. Peggy was born on July 14th, 1932 in Etowah, TN, to her parents, William A. Whitener and Printie Anne Mullinax. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Ted Whitener and W. D. Whitener, and her sisters Ruth Whitener Bell and Lois Whitener Parks. Peggy graduated from Gilmer High School in 1949 and attended Young Harris College. She served as a secretary for First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge and the Morganton Baptist Association. She retired from the Georgia Department of Labor as an office manager and supervisor, but her favorite role was as wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Calvary Way Baptist Church in Ellijay. Peggy is survived by her husband of 65 years William "Bill" Jason Huff, daughters Ramona Harris (Mike) of Cohutta, GA, Renee Walker (Charles) of Ellijay, GA and Grandson, Eric Hamilton (Karli) of Denton, TX. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 13th, 2020 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel in Ellijay, with Rev. Rick Fountain and Rev. James Holt officiating. Interment will follow at Ellijay City Cemetery. Tim Bryan, Mike Lund, Steve Bailey, Bency Turner, Jerry Gordon, Michael Bennett, Bill Logan, and Steve Farist will be serving as pallbearers. The family is receiving friends on Thursday, March 12th, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.loganfuneralhome.com.
