Paul Joseph
Srodoski
April 21, 1952 – May 15, 2024
Paul Joseph Srodoski, 72, of Ellijay, GA, the beloved son of the late Alexander C. Srodoski and Alice M. Kennedy, passed away after a short illness on May 15, 2024. He was born on April 21st, 1952, in Schenectady, NY.
Paul graduated from Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady, New York, in 1970. He began his career at Golub Corporation (Price Chopper Supermarkets) and Brown & Williamson Tobacco before dedicating his service to the Forsyth County Georgia Sheriff's Department, where he retired as a Supply Officer.
Paul is survived by his wife of 46 years, Catherine M. Politi; his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael P. Srodoski and Eugenia Chung Srodoski of Hartford, CT, Peter V. Srodoski and Jessica Fleming Srodoski of Cumming, GA; and his daughter, Kristen L. Srodoski of Moultrie, GA. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Esther, Ava, Gray, Alex, Max, Lucy, and Emma.
Paul's love for his family was limitless, but his grandkids held a special place in his heart. "Grandpa Poppy" found great joy in his grandchildren, showing immense pride in their accomplishments in school and sports.
A longtime member of the Schenectady, NY Yacht Club, Paul had a deep passion for boating. He captained a boat named The Pearl, now 51 years old. Paul was also an avid sports fan, cheering fervently for the Denver Broncos (one of his happiest moments was their first Super Bowl win in 1998) and the Philadelphia Phillies. He shared a special bond with his son Michael over their love of sports, and one of his bucket list items was fulfilled when he traveled with Michael to see the Denver Broncos play at Mile High Stadium. Paul also enjoyed playing fantasy football, adding to his love of the game.
He had a love for classic rock, especially the music of the 60s like The Rolling Stones, The Animals, and Pink Floyd. Paul was never far from a cold Coors Light, often enjoyed while fishing and crabbing off the piers at Jekyll Island, GA, and Amelia Island, FL.
Raised in the Capital District of New York, Paul also lived in Dallas, Texas, before settling in the North Georgia suburbs for the last twenty years of his life. Known for his quick wit and infectious humor, Paul loved to tell jokes and made friends across the country laugh with his hilarious imitations of family, friends, and even adversaries. He and his son Peter had a unique connection, often calling each other to exchange their favorite "voices."
Paul loved gambling, betting on sports, and horse racing, and he relished his occasional trips to a race track.
Paul was a kind and generous man, always willing to go the extra mile for those he cared about. He was stubborn, frugal, and absolutely hysterical, bringing joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Paul's legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Join us in celebrating his incredible life and the countless ways he made the world a brighter place.
