Paul Kent Holcomb, age 68, passed away on February 19, 2026, at his home in Ellijay.

Kent was born on June 7, 1957 in Atlanta Georgia to his late parents, Samuel Paul Holcomb and Thoma Elizabeth Wood.

He is survived by his loving wife Irene Holcomb; sons Jason (Yan) Holcomb and Daniel (Tonya) Holcomb, both of Jasper Georgia; grandchildren Porter, Anders and Aspen Holcomb; grandchildren Ryan, Mathew and Grace Hastings; brothers Billy (Shannon) Wood of Temple Georgia, and Shawn (Heather) Holcomb of Rome Georgia; father-in-law and mother-in-law Neal and Betty Cheek of Ellijay; along with many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Kent was a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. He led his family with a strong faith in God and gave them abundant love, guidance, comfort, protection, encouragement and lots of hugs.

He enjoyed the beautiful nature God provided around his home on the Cartecay River. He especially loved spending time there with his family, playing with his grandchildren, fishing, and watching birds.

He was an enthusiastic fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and DawgNation.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
