Mrs. Patsy Jean Ponder Godfrey, age 87, of Ellijay, passed away on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026.

Mrs. Godfrey was born on October 29th, 1938, in Tate, Georgia, to the late Doyle Jay Ponder and Iola White Ponder. She was a proud member of the Baptist faith and worked as a Bus Driver for the Gilmer County School System for 23 years. Mrs. Godfrey is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Eugene Talmage Godfrey.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Jean Williams and husband Daryl of Ball Ground and Lisa Wingard and husband Ricky of Ellijay; grandchildren Jason Williams and wife Kim, Kylie Williams, and Nate Wingard and wife Heather; 13 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Henson and Rev. Edwin Bishop officiating. Special music will be provided by the Michael Morris family.

Interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens County, Georgia, with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jason Williams, Nate Wingard, Preston Williams, J.D. Williams, Mark Godfrey, Margarito Francisco. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Wingard, Daryl Williams, Donald Williams, and Colter Rutledge.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, April 17th, 2026, at Logan Funeral Home.

Flowers are being accepted, or donations may be made to the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in Pickens County, Georgia. The family requests that no food be brought to the funeral home.
