Mrs. Opal Irene (Davis) Gudger, age 99 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Wednesday June 18th, 2025 at the Parkside Nursing Home of Ellijay.

Mrs. Gudger was born on August 29th, 1925 in Ellijay, GA. She was a daughter of the late Tamar Elavee (Greenway) and William Rector Davis. Mrs. Gudger was a 1942 graduate of Gilmer High School and was a faithful member of Mountaintown Baptist Church for over 75 years. Opal is preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Gudger, her son, Ronald Gudger, her grandson, William Gudger, and her son in law; Richard Davenport.

Opal is survived by her children; Janet Gudger Davenport and Robert (Marianne) Gudger all of Ellijay, GA; daughter in law, Sharon Nicholson Gudger of Dunwoody, GA; grandchildren, Kimberly (Don) Clerici, Brent Davenport, Jonathan Gudger, Caroline Gudger, Ethan (Sterling) Gudger, and Seth (Madison) Gudger; great grandchildren, Kendall, Morgan, and Brooklyn Clerici, Magnolia and Josie Gudger, and Ward Gudger; brothers, Vic Davis of Ellijay, GA and Bobby (Jane) Davis of Rome, GA.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday June 22nd from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Snider officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountaintown Baptist Church Cemetery with Brent Davenport, Jonathan Gudger, Ethan Gudger, Seth Gudger, Don Clerici, Jae McCoy, Kevin Davis, and Keith Davis all serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until the service hour of 2:00pm on Sunday June 22nd at the Logan Funeral Home.
