Morris Miller Parks, age 86 of Ellijay, GA passed on Monday, July 26, 2021. He was born March 27,1935 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents Clemont Morris and Edith Grace (Miller) Parks. Morris was a deacon and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay for 74 years. He served honorably in the US Army. Morris was the City of Ellijay walking Mail man and retired from the United States Postal service. He was also a member of the Ellijay Lions Club, Oak Bowery Masonic Lodge #81, Royal Arch, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Yarrab Temple Shrine, and Coosawattee Shrine Club. He is preceded in death by his daughter in law Lisa Farmer Parks. Survivors include his wife of 61 years Hilda Priest Parks, Ellijay, GA, daughter Hilda Grace and Marshall Holcomb, Free Home, GA, son Edgar Morris Parks, Ellijay, GA, grand children Emily Grace Holcomb, and Kyle Marshall Holcomb, Haley Nicole and Thomas Davis, great grand children Blakely and Parker Davis. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 31,2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 1,2021 3:00pm at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
