Mr. Monroe Cleveland Parks, age 80 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Monroe was born on May 22, 1944, In Ellijay, Georgia to his late parents Adolphus Franklin Parks and Millie Oneta (Sluder) Parks. Monroe was a member of Salem Baptist Church, a 1962 Gilmer County High School graduate, and was also a United States Navy Veteran.

Survivors include sister Linda Reed, Ellijay, GA, brothers and in-laws James (Shirley) Parks, Peachtree City, GA, Jerry (Debbie) Parks, Ellijay, GA, nephews Jeremy (Gina) Parks, Ryan (Valerie) Parks, Michael (Pam) Reed, Joey (Nicole) Reed, Lynn (Jennifer) Shaneyfelt, Keith (Denise) Presley, Kayla Parks.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 2 PM at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Hensley and Rev. Brondy Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Salem Baptist Church cemetery. Ryan Parks, Jeremy Parks, Michael Reed, Joey Reed, Zander Parks, Dillon Reed, Eli Reed, Gavin Reed, and Isaac Defoor will be serving as pallbearers.
