Mildred Irene (Spivey) Corbin, age 78, passed on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born April 14, 1942 in Ellijay, GA to her late parents, Ennus Fuller and Hattie Pearl Wood Spivey. Mildred was a member of Tails Creek Baptist Church for 54 years. She was a sanitation engineer for the Gilmer County School system. Preceded in death by sister, Audrey Spivey Scott and brother, Weyman Spivey. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 26 at the Tails Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Pinson, Rev. Brondy Davis and Rev. Eddie Kerr, officiating. Music provided by Vickie Kerr & Family. Shane Cromie, Larry Farist, Nathaniel Bobby Lee Ash, Stefan Payne, Herbert Wright and Tim Pinson serving as pallbearers. Floyd Scott, Gary Spivey, William Spivey, David Spivey, Rob Carlisle and Bill Griffin serving as honorary pall bearers. Interment will follow at the Tails Creek Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Corbin is survived by her husband Herman Luther Corbin of 59 years, daughters and son-in-law Carla Corbin Ash and her late husband Bobby Ash, Ellijay, GA, Dana & Larry Farist, Ellijay, GA, grandchildren, Susannah Ash and Audra Faith Farist, great grandson, Nathaniel Bobby Lee Ash, brother-in-law, Floyd Scott, Nelson, GA, and sister-in-law, Gladys Spivey, Ellijay, GA, sisters, Debra & Dr. Rob Carlisle, Granite Bay, CA, Donna & Bill Griffin, Temecula, CA, brothers Gary and Barbara Spivey, William and Kathy Spivey, David and Gail Spivey, all of Ellijay, GA, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Tails Creek Baptist church one hour before service.
