Mrs. Mary Nell Waters Douthit, age 82 of the Tails Creek Community passed from this life on Wednesday, October 13th, 2010 at her residence. Born August 28th, 1928 to her late parents John Lester and Canzady Withrow Waters, and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, She was a graduate of Gilmer High School, Class of 1947 and was a retired employee of Appalachian Oak Flooring from 1951 to 1967, also Thriftown Grocery Store from 1980-1992. Mrs. Douthit is preceded in death by her husband Burley Douthit. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, October 16th, 2010, at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Edmund Miller and Rev. Rubin Smith officiating, with music by Karen Buchanan, and vocals by Loy Jarrett. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law Charlie and Katherine Waters of Ellijay, GA.; niece Mitzi Miller of Knoxville, TN.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rev. Edmund and Jeannie Miller of Ellijay, GA.; caregivers Mary Henson, Wanda Pankey and Lee Sales. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 15th at the Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
