December 13, 1934 – February 11, 2023
Mr. Mack Grady West, age 88 of East Ellijay, GA passed away on Saturday, February 11th,2023 at his residence.
Mr. West was born on December 13th,1934 in Ellijay, GA to the late Numan Andrew and Flora Mae (Watkins) West. Mack was a member of the 1952 graduating class of Gilmer High School, he also attended Young Harris College and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958. Mack was the Mayor of East Ellijay for 50 years. He is preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Billue, brothers, Jack, Jerry, Vernon, and Larry West, and son-in-law Harold Crump.
Mack is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann (Smith) West of the home in East Ellijay; children and in-laws, Sherry (West) Crump of East Ellijay, Steven (Kim) West of East Ellijay; grandchildren, Jaxon West, Cassie (Jeffrey) Stover, Bryan (Valerie) Crump, Rebecca West; great-grandchildren, Maddox West, Lennon, J.J., and Lucy Stover, Mia and Maverick Crump, Emma, and Luke Stancill; sister, Susan (Joe) Winkler of Brookhaven, GA; brother, Ronnie (Sue) West of East Ellijay, GA, several nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14th,2023 from the East Ellijay Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Fields and Speaker Larry Callahan officiating. Special music will be by Loren and Donna McVey. Interment will follow in the East Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery with the following East Ellijay Policeman serving as pallbearers, Larry Callahan, Shane Bowman, Noel Loera, Kurtis Parks, Logan Bristol, Mathias Green, and Colt Hunt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Kiker, Sam McKoy, Trent Sanford, Billy Carmical, Larry Johnson, Harold Simmons, Robert Westmoreland, Mack Logan, Max Hoyle, Johnny Buffington, Billy Loudermilk, and Rick Burkett.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, February 13th at the Logan Funeral Home.
Flowers are being accepted, or donations can be made to the East Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Mack West.
