Obituary

MICHEL, Lucille Berryman, 90, passed away in her sleep on October 13, 2016. She was born in Washington D.C. to Richard and Grace Daniel Berryman. Lucille graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, VA in 1943 and went immediately to work during World War II. She was active in the USO where she met her husband, Frederick J. Michel. They married in 1947, and remained happily together until his death 62 years later. Lucille was always active in her community as a room mother, in Girl Scouts, neighborhood government, garden clubs, as a hospital volunteer, and as a volunteer at Mt. Vernon in Virginia. Family was of utmost importance to her and she put all of her energy into making a home for Fred and her two daughters. She was instrumental in keeping the extended families together and wrote some family histories as well. She is survived by her daughters Deanna Orendorf (Robert) in Louisville, KY, her daughter Cynthia Michel of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren and in-laws Megan and Adam Page, Daniel Orendorf, and Paige Wilson, and four great grandchildren. She will be buried in Arlington Cemetery. Donations in her honor would be welcomed at Serenity Mountain Manor, where she lived for the last four months of her life. We so appreciate the loving care given to her by the staff there. 309 Price Creek Farms Lane, Jasper, GA 30143.
