Lorine Stanley Williams, age 79 of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2023. Mrs. Williams was born on July 1, 1943, in Cherry Log, Georgia. She graduated from Coosa High School in Rome and moved to Ellijay, Georgia in 1988. Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael D. Williams of Ellijay; two children, Matt Williams and Mary Beth Priest (Jeremy) of Ellijay; grandchildren Anne Elise and Dixie Williams of Ellijay, and Madeline and Miles Priest of Ellijay; sister Glenell (Joe) Fricks of Rome as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Warfield Stanley and Othella Stanley, and siblings Nellie Wilson, Janny Baker, Lee Roy Stanley, and Leon Stanley.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the Pisgah Church of Christ. She was a lifelong volunteer teaching Sunday school at her church, organizing support for those affected by Alzheimer's Disease and volunteering time to local animal rescue organizations. Mrs. Williams was also a talented painter and taught paint classes locally for many years.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Logan Funeral Home & Chapel. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Pisgah Church of Christ Cemetery with Min. Butch Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gilmer County Animal Shelter or the Alzheimer's Association in her name. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.loganfuneralhome.com. Logan Funeral Home & Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
