Mr. Lesley Berry, age 81, of Talking Rock, Ga, passed on Monday, March 23rd, 2020 at his residence He was born on August 5, 1938 to his late parents, Samuel George and Virginia (Conner) Berry in Dahlonega, GA. Mr. Berry graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 1956, earned a Master's degree from Georgia State University, retired from the US Army as an I T programmer after 30 years. After retirement he enjoyed genealogy and projects around the house. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel George and Virginia (Conner) Berry, sisters Eula B. Gilbreath, Beulah B. Claudine B. Scroggs, Eddie Berry, Lauler B. Black, brothers Mark Berry and Andrew Berry, sister Thelma (Berry) Gary. Private family services will be held at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 27th, 2020. Interment will follow the service at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Mr. Berry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marjorie (Tolbert) Berry of the home in Talking Rock, GA , daughter, Amy Michelle Berry, Talking Rock, GA , sons and daughter-in-law, Rev. Christopher Denton and Michelle Metcalf, Lihue, HI, Kevin Thomas Metcalf, Douglasville, Ga, grandchildren Rev. Drew Metcalf, Ashton and Josiah Motosue, Carah Metcalf, Corey Metcalf, all in HI, several nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, March 26th 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The Logan Funeral Home will adhere to the governor's mandate due to the Corona Virus limiting visitation to 10 individuals at a time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery fund in memory of Mr. Berry.
