Allen Keith “Poppi” Parks, 74, of Ellijay, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Keith was born on October 18, 1951, in Ellijay, Georgia, to the late Eugene Ernest Parks and Opal Oleeta Starks Parks. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Keith found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Above all else, he treasured his family. Known affectionately as “Poppi,” he dearly loved his grandchild and great-grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to be with those he loved.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Franklin Parks.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Diane Parks of Ellijay; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Matt Chastain of Ellijay; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Luke and Kaitlyn Chastain of Ellijay; his great-grandchildren, Brenleigh and J. J. Chastain; and his sister-in-law, Lorena Thompson, and his beloved dog, Luke.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Future Farmers of America, Gilmer County Division, in memory of Keith.
