Joseph T. Griffith,67, of Ellijay, Georgia passed away on August 17, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Joseph was born on December 27, 1955, to J.T. Griffith and Maxine Towery Griffith in Whitestone, Georgia. After graduation from Gilmer County High School, he went on to study electronics communication and computers at Pickens Technology School. Joe worked for 20 years for Georgia Marble Company and Emerys in the Quality Control Sample Lab at the Whitestone Mining Operations. Joseph spent his retirement years taking care of the family farmstead and working as a radio engineer. Joseph was predeceased by his mother and father.

He is survived by his brother, Jonathan D. Griffith, and nephews, Matthew R. Griffith, and Eric S. Griffith. He is also survived by his aunt, Lucile Griffith McMullen.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 1 pm to 2 pm at Whitestone Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Whitestone Baptist Church on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 2 pm. Interment will follow in the Whitestone Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Whitestone Baptist Church where Joseph was a dedicated member.
