John Everett Taylor, age 69, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. John was born on January 24, 1956, in Steubenville, OH, to his parents Dewey Walton Taylor and Lois Louise Charlton. John was a member of East Ellijay Baptist Church. He worked at Datwyler Rubber Company in Jasper, GA, and for over fifty years in the automotive parts industry. John is preceded in death by his brother Darrell Hockett.

Survivors include his wife Laurie J. Taylor of 49 years, of Ellijay, GA, son Jason Taylor, Ellijay, GA, daughter and son-in-law Heather and Chris Dover of Ellijay, GA, grandchildren Kansas Dover and Hattie Dover, sisters Joyce Wilbert of Doraville, GA, Sharon Lawyer of Pittsburg, PA. and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chad Kelley officiating and music by Scott Eaton. The interment will be at the East Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Taylor, Chris Dover, Dustin Dover, Ricky Chambers, Chuck Lallathin, and Bill Quarles.
