John "Jack" Andrew Slimm, 80, of Ellijay joined his Heavenly family on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. John was born on May 11, 1941 in New Jersey to his late parents, John and Helen (Reinhardt) Slimm. John was a member of the Cartecay Baptist Church. John was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Phyllis Slimm, brother William Slimm, step-daughter Mary Charlotte Knight, step-son William Wayne Garrison, and great-grandson Sgt. Joseph Michael Garrison.
He is survived by his sisters, Delores (Slimm) Veitenheimer of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Mary (Slimm) Crosby of Cottageville, SC, and Shirley (Slimm) Bellas of Jensen Beach, FL; his children and their spouses, Brenda (Slimm) and William Banks of Cumming, GA, Terri (Slimm) and Bob Ferrari of Jensen Beach, FL, Carolynne (Slimm) and Kyle Standish of Gainesville, FL, Lois and Jack Slimm of Jensen Beach, FL, Candy and Kevin Slimm of Sebring, FL, Misty and Brian Slimm of Mt. Vernon, IL, Craig Slimm of Stuart, FL, Joe Garrison of Hitterdal, MN, 18 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
John was known for his devout Faith, his never ending love, and his willingness to always help someone in need.
A celebration of life will be held at Cartecay Baptist Church in Ellijay on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 2pm.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Cartecay Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA.
