John Lloyd McClure, age 87 of Ellijay, GA passed on Sunday June 14th, 2020 at the Pruitt Health in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born on June 29th, 1932 in Ellijay, GA to his late parents, John Arvil and Emily Jane (Fowler) McClure. Rev. McClure was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was called to preach in 1976 and pastored several local community churches. He was a talented musician and led the way for his family's musical talent. Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia B. McClure, brothers, Clifford, Billy, Hassel, Ranel and Benny McClure, sisters, Vercil Mooney and Bessie Cox. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday June 17th from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wallace Parks, Rev. Jerry Clayton, Rev. Billy Cantrell and Rev. Shane Duggan officiating. Music and singing will be performed by Rev. Brandon and Stephanie Clayton. Graveside interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Brady Clayton, Brandon Clayton, Keith Cantrell, Shane Duggan, John McClure and Donnie Weaver serving as pallbearers. Rev. McClure is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Ray Walker, Charlene and Billy Masters, son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Deborah McClure all of Ellijay, GA, grandchildren, Connie Martin, Keith Cantrell, Brady and Brandon Clayton, Kane and Chris Bowen, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Davenport, Barbara and Ernest Watkins all of Cherry Log, GA, brother, Bobby McClure of Waleska, GA. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral service at 2:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery fund in care of Dennis Ralston at 117 River Lane Ellijay, GA 30536 in memory of Rev. McClure.
