John Arthur Igou, age 74 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022. John was born March 19, 1948, in Chattanooga, TN to his late parents Earl Henry and Evelyn Almeda (Reneau) Igou. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay. John was a medal of honor recipient at the Chattanooga police department. John is preceded in death by his wife Carol Hammontree Brown. Survivors include children Amy Williams, Buford, GA, and Patrick Hammontree, Buford, GA. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 3:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Ellijay, GA with Rev. Allan Tarr officiating.
