Mr. John William "Bill" Burkett, age 64 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at his residence after suffering from ill health for several years. Mr. Burkett was born on September 27th, 1951 in Kentucky, and moved with his family to Ellijay, GA when he was 16 years old. He was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ. Bill loved playing the guitar, especially rock n' roll music, and his favorite tune was Johnny Be Good. He performed with several different bands in the Ellijay area. He is preceded in death by his father Roy H. Burkett. Mr. Burkett is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ann Marie Pinson Burkett of the home in Ellijay, GA; step daughters Pamela Smith of Calhoun, GA and Maryann Robinson of Napa, FL; Mother-in-law and father-in-law, Celia and Clifford West of Ranger, GA also survive. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Butch Jones, Min. Miles Peeples, and Elder Curtis Kingsley officiating. Congregational singing will be led by Jeremy Green. Interment will follow at a later date in the Ellijay Church of Christ Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Logan Funeral Home.
