Jimmy Franklin Finney, age 80, of Rome, GA passed away Friday, March 8, 2024. Jimmy was born September 17, 1943, in Cairo, GA to his late parents Lewis Lamar Carr and Mary Hilda (Logue) Carr. Mr. Finney graduated from Thomasville High School (Thomasville, GA) and Berry College. Jimmy was a member of North Broad Baptist Church where he was a deacon and served as treasurer for many years. Jimmy was the owner and CEO of Finney & Associates Accounting Firm. Jimmy served his country honorably in the US Army. He was a member of the Rome Chapter of Georgia Society of CPAs and served on various organizations in the community. Jimmy is preceded in death by his sisters Wilma Finney Cannon and Linda Finney Barrow; and his brother, Arnold Finney.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lottie Snow Finney, Rome, GA; his daughter Kimberly Finney Irmscher, Olive Branch, MS; his son David (Kristie) Finney, Jasper, GA; his grandchildren Carter (Brittany) Irmscher, Caroline (Nathan) Tatko, Lauren Finney, Will Finney, Anna Grace Finney; his sister Darlene Finney Salling and his brother Billy (Robin) Carr, Gulfport, MS.
A memorial service will be held at North Broad Baptist Church on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 2:00pm with a visitation beginning at noon prior to the service. The service will be officiated by Rev. Micah Pritchett.
