Rev. Jamie Cecil Dotson, age 47 passed away Monday, March 27, 2023. Jamie was born on November 4, 1975, in Gainesville, GA to his parents James Hubert and Deborah Jean (Defoor) Dotson. Jamie was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Jamie pastored Mt. Pleasant (Buckhorn), Little Baptist, and was currently the pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Jamie is preceded in death by his mother Deborah Jean Defoor Dotson, grandparents Cecil and Geraldine Defoor, and Jessie and Rethia Dotson.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years Cindy Jones Dotson, Ellijay, GA, and daughters Abby (Austin) Padgett, Ellijay, GA, Anna Pearl Dotson, Ellijay, GA, Daddy James (Jim) Dotson, Ellijay, GA, sister Brandie (Bryan) Thomas, Blue Ridge, GA, Pawpaw to Jett Thomas Padgett, several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bryan Hensley and Rev. Joey Phillips officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Austin Padgett, Cole Ingram, Jake Ingram, Logan Godfrey, Brent Dotson, Burt Dotson, Brandon Kerr, and Terialton Davenport serve as pallbearers. Jett Thomas Padgett, Dalton Thomas, Owen Thomas, Rev. Josh Green, Rev. Jamie Kerr, Rev. Shane Duggan, Dan Henson, Smitty Dotson, and Jesse Dotson are serving as honorary pallbearers.
