James Franklin Henson, age 79 of Ellijay, Ga. passed away Monday, August 26, 2024. James was born on April 14, 1945, in Ellijay, Ga. to his late parents Frank Homer Henson and Ozal Crook Henson. James was a 1963 graduate of Gilmer County High School. He was a mechanic and served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family.

Survivors include his companion Brenda Gayle Seiverling of Ellijay, Ga., Sons and in-laws Matt and Kellie Henson and Zachary and Meagan Edwards Henson all of Ellijay, Ga., grandchild Abigail Rose Henson, sister Brenda Henson Edens of Gainesville, Ga. and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 1-3 pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 3:00 pm. at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Chastain officiating. The interment will be at Turniptown Baptist Church. Kris Weaver, Bobby Lanning, Stephen Edens, Keith Parks, Dartis Newton, Crutis Sanford, Joey Bryan, John Nelson, Harvey McClure, Allen Settle,and Patrick Davis will be pallbearers.
