Mrs. Irene Whitaker Rogers, age 87 of Hampton, GA formerly of Ellijay, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023.

Mrs. Rogers was born on December 15th, 1935 in Ellijay, GA to her late parents, Theodore Roosevelt Whitaker and Jessie Pless Whitaker. Growing up, she was one of 12 children. Irene was a homemaker for many years until she started a career with Merico Bakery where she retired. She loved gardening, working outside, and her flowers. She is preceded in death by her children, Harold Rogers and Tammy Rogers, grandchildren, David Rogers, Cole Putnam, Jacob Adams, and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children, Cathie Putnam (Bob), Joey Rogers (Darlene), Teresa Herendon (Ronnie), Timmy Rogers (Rita); 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Sue Long (James), Rebecca Cowart (Gary), Wanda Patterson (Jerry).

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Matt Amos officiating. Interment following the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 25th at the Logan Funeral Home.
