Herman John Taylor, Jr., of Ellijay, passed away on February 17, 2024, at his home in Ellijay. He was born in Decatur, Ga., on March 7, 1948. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. & Mrs. Herman J. Taylor, Sr., and his son, Eric Michael Taylor. He is survived by his brother Ronald Taylor and sister-in-law, Vickie Taylor, son, Kurt Taylor, and grandchildren, Jacob and Haley Taylor, also many nieces and nephews survive. Herman graduated from Towers High School in 1966 and attended many reunions and picnics. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduation and is a Vietnam veteran. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He worked in the pest extermination business for over 35 years. After retirement, he moved to Ellijay. He loved watching any of the actors in the old Western movies, especially John Wayne. There will be a Memorial Service scheduled at a later date.
