Gusta "Whiz" Aurellia Keener, age 88 of Ellijay, GA passed on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Whiz was born July 22, 1933 in Maryville, TN to her late parents John Williard and Frances Caroline (Garner) Rogers. Whiz was a member of East Ellijay Baptist Church. Whiz is preceded in death by her husband John W. Keener, daughter Doris Keener Sanford, sister Lena Watkins, Phyllis Pierce, brothers John Tipton, Paul Rogers, Grant Rogers, Ernest Rogers, Hobert Rogers, Melvin Rogers. Survivors include her daughter Freda and Fairley Cantrell, Ellijay, GA, son-in-law Rev. Emuel and Sue Sanford, Ellijay, GA, grand children Eric Sanford, Jennifer Jenkins, Kelley Wilson, great grandchildren Avery Sanford, Ava Sanford, Evan Sanford, Elijah Jenkins, Lottie Jenkins, John Carter Wilson, Spencer Wilson, sisters Mary Ellen Cruce, Suches, GA, brothers Corky and Willene Rogers, Toccoa, GA, Harold "Butch" and Linda Rogers, Ellijay, GA. Visitation will be on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emuel Sanford, Rev. Steve Keener, Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating. Ronnie Rogers, Ronnie Tipton, Stacy Rogers, Tony Cruce, Steve Rogers, John Carter Wilson will be serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow at the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
