Ms. Florence "Tot" Crooke, age 88 of Roswell, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at Brookdale Chambrel.

Ms. Crooke was born on June 7th, 1935, in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Charles Earl and Gladys (Quarles) Crooke.

Tot is survived by her niece, Earline Crooke; great nephew, David Abercrombie, and her great- great nephews, Dylan Abercrombie and Wade Abercrombie.

Tot graduated from Gilmer County High School where she is remembered as a standout on the basketball court. She went on to graduate from GSCW in Milledgeville, now known as Georgia College and State University. She received her Master's degrees from UNC Greensboro and her Specialist Degree from Georgia State University. Tot taught English at Sandy Springs High School where she also coached the Girl's Basketball Team. Upon the closing of Sandy Springs High School she moved to Roswell High School where she was recognized for her excellence in teaching by being named Star Teacher for Fulton County. She retired after 30+ years of teaching.

Before moving to assisted living in 2020, she lived in Roswell with the Chattahoochee River as her backyard. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sports of all kinds. She swam every day and enjoyed walking. She was also an avid traveler and enjoyed many trips to various destinations both at home and abroad with fellow teachers and friends. She also made yearly trips to her beloved Jekyll Island.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Walls and Dr. Rolf Meinhold officiating. Internment will follow at a later date at the Ellijay City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Craddock Center at P.O. Box 69, Cherry Log, GA 30522, in memory of Ms. Crooke.
