Mr. Eric Maddox, age 51 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Monday August 7th, 2023, at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Ellijay.

Eric was born on March 2nd, 1972, in Pensacola Beach, FL to his parents, Jim Maddox and Mary Souviney. Eric was a member of the Gilmer High School Class of 1991. He was best known for working as a Firefighter and EMT for Gilmer County for 10 years. Most recently, Eric started his own transportation business called A&E Chariot Services. Eric never met a stranger and had the most contagious smile. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and Pops. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed & Snooki Maddox.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Jo Maddox; children, Timothy Eric Maddox (Chloe), Bethany Richards (Brian); grandsons, JB, Jax, and Joah Richards; father and mother, Jim Maddox and Mary Souviney; sisters, Angel Parker (Tommy), Lisa Reid; brothers, Shane Bowman (Theresa), James McKinney (Cassie), and Charles McKinney; sister-in-law, Amanda Parker; and mother-in-law, Mary Parker; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate Eric's life will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, August 18th, 2023 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Davenport officiating. Full fire service honors will be presented by the honor guard.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm noon until the service hour of 3:00 pm on Friday, August 18th, 2023 at the Logan Funeral Home.
