Our beloved Eloise Virginia Fricke died October 16, 2020. Born the 5th of 6 children to Eskey and Martha Fitzwater November 18, 1925. Eloise married Edward Gabriel in 1942, had two children: Edward Gabriel, Jr. and Gabrielle Cornett. Eloise sang and taught Sunday school; was a secretary at Spaulding China and later at Babcock and Wilcox. Eloise and her family moved to Warren, Ohio in 1962 where she was a secretary at Van Huffle, Corp. In 1967, Eloise married Abie Bates and lived in Warren 7 more years. "Ellie" moved to New Jersey in 1974 and married Harry Fricke. She managed Bramblewood Apts. for 3 years. Harry and Ellie moved to a country house in Pennsylvania in 1977. There they kept horses and English sheepdogs, created beautiful gardens, and hosted lovely parties. After Harry's passing, Ellie moved to Allentown, PA. where she gardened, collected antiques and made beautiful quilts and dolls. Ellie moved to Ellijay in 2014 to live with her daughter. In 2017, Ellie moved to Cameron Hall, Ellijay. In 2019, she moved to Parkside, Ellijay after three hip surgeries. Ellie is survived by her son, Edward Gabriel, Jr.; her daughter, Gabrielle Cornett; grandsons and granddaughters: Moses Mooney, Catherine Gabriel, Ishi Cornett, John Cornett and Matthew Cornett; 12 great grandchildren; stepson, David Fricke, stepdaughter, Liz Sheltra; niece, Martha Rose Smith; and great niece, Kathy Stone. A memorial service will take place December 21, 2020 at Ellijay First United Methodist Church at 11AM. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.loganfuneralhome.com.
