Edwin "Eddie" Karl Tankersley. Age 66 of Ellijay, GA. passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024. Eddie was born June 14, 1957 in Ellijay, Ga. to his late parents Reed Ellis Tankersley and Buren Gladys Davenport. Eddie was an outdoorsman; never more at home or at peace than when he was in the woods surrounded by trees and wildlife. During his working years, Eddie cut timber to earn a living. He was a hardworking man who helped anyone who asked. If Eddie wasn't working, he could be found hunting, fishing, or gardening. His family and those who loved him will always remember him as a strong, man's man with a big kind heart. Eddie is preceded in death by brothers, Henry Alan Tankersley and Daniel Eric Tankersley.

Survivors include his spouse Sharon Tankersley of Ellijay, GA., siblings Ronald Reed Tankersley and Martha, Gary Steven Tankersley and Evelyn and Sandra Aleece Quinton and Raymond. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday January 10, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy McClure officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Chris Tankersley, Avery Webb, Jack Staton, Jason Carroll, Clyde Jones and Max Landaverde all serving as Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Tankersley.
