Mr. Edward Grant, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, after a 3-year battle with cancer. Ed was born on November 17th, 1947, in Bilouxi, Mississippi to his parents James Lomax and Margaret Ann Carr Grant. Ed served our country honorably in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Cherry Log Christian Church.

Ed started visiting Ellijay in the early 1980s, and in 1984, he decided to move and make Ellijay his home. He had a 100-year-old log cabin moved to Mountaintown Creek and began a 30-year career building and selling log homes. He was heavily involved in the real estate and property management businesses, and he also sold promotional products.

Ed was funny, witty and loved the outdoors. His favorite pastime was camping with family and friends. He was a great friend and went out of his way to help others. He is preceded in death by his father, James Lomax Grant, and his stepson, Justin Elliott.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Wright Grant of the home in Ellijay; son Edward Grant, Jr. (Rebecca) of Whitesburg, GA; granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Grant of Alpharetta, GA; mother, Margaret Ann Carr Grant of Ellijay, GA; brother, David Grant (Helen) of Acworth, GA; brother in law and sister in law, Andrea & Dan Harris of Alpharetta, GA and Hal and Brenda Wright of Ellijay, GA; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, who fondly called him "Uncle Egg"; several cousins also survive.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday May 2nd, 2025 at Chateau Meichtry in Ellijay.
