Earl Forrest Holbrooks, age 79 of Ellijay, GA passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Earl was born on September 10, 1943, in Hayesville, NC to his parents James Earl and Etna Pauline (Garrett) Holbrooks. Earl graduated from Gilmer High School in 1962. Earl was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Earl served his country honorably in the US Air Force. Earl retired from Lockheed Martin where he worked as a machinist and a supervisor.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years Deborah Lynn Holbrooks, Ellijay, GA, daughter Tammy Michelle Bowen, Fairmount, GA, grandchild Darby Dell Bowen, Fairmount, GA, brother Rev. Carroll and Karen Holbrooks, Ellijay, GA, two nieces and two nephews, special friends Diane Mullinax (the late David Mullinax), Susan and James Holloway, and E.J. Jackson.

The family will receive friends at the Calvary Way Baptist Church on Friday, July 28, 2023, from 1 pm to 2 pm. The Funeral service will be held Friday, July 28, 2023, at 2 pm at the Calvary Way Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Martin and Rev. Carroll Holbrooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Way Baptist Church Cemetery. Jeremy Morgan, Zachary Morgan, John McClure, James Holloway, Brandon Powell, Isaac McClure, Shane Bowen, and Brett Bennett serving as pallbearers, and Gene Martin and the Deacons of the church serving as honorary pallbearers.
